Afformations for Creativity

Our brains are built for answering questions. Present a question to your brain and it will mull it over in the background until it finds an answer. That’s why affirmations, those “I am worthy of love” statements so popular in self-healing journeys, sometimes don’t really help you shift your beliefs. If deep down you don’t believe it, don’t find the proof within yourself that it’s true, then the statement might make it to your brain but it won’t stick the landing. It won’t be absorbed, so it can’t change anything.

I use another method called Afformations®, developed by Noah St. John. He posits that giving the brain a question to figure out allows your subconscious to find the proof within yourself of its truth. Instead of “I am worthy of love” ask the question “How am I worthy of love?” Then let your brain do its thing. What answers float up into your consciousness over the next minute, hour, or day?
